Cube High Altitude Cleaning UAV

Cube is an unmanned aerial vehicle designed for cleaning the glass of high rise buildings. The omnidirectional aircraft has eight propellers and can rotate freely in the air. Onboard sensors determine the position and onboard computing determines the flight path. The square frame carries up to five separate cleaning modules, each with a water tank and surface nozzles. Small balls at the four corners help each module move across the glass. Solar panels recharge the modules during the operation. The design reduces the cost and the risk of manual cleaning at height.

Cube High Altitude Cleaning UAV Highrise Glass won the Iron A' Design Award in Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design in 2021. The A' Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that recognizes excellent design of industrial robots, medical robots, agricultural robots, domestic robots, autonomous vehicles, humanoid robots, telepresence robots, underwater robots and more.
